2004 BMX company from the UK. Pro flatlander Lee Musselwhite has started Inertiain 2004.
Lee Musselwhite "ssels", www.inertiabikes.com, 2004: This is not just a rider owned company where the rider has just pointed at a picture and said I want this with minor alterations, I have put my heart, soul and all my knowledge into producing each design from scratch on a 3D cad design program. I’m not saying I did everything myself that would be a lie. I have an awesome creative team with qualified engineers with years of experience in the industry who make sure all designs are functionally sound and they all believe fully in what I want to achieve. Our goal is to design products that are totally purpose driven, no unnecessary gimmicks, products that have specific reasoning to the way they are made and the geometry in which they are made to. It’s not about trying to fool the rider into thinking that the extra room from a bent tube or raised stay has any significant value whatsoever. We are not trying to push design to an unnecessary level for the sake of it and call it innovation. However innovative concepts and attention to detail are at the top of our agenda. We just want to put the essential elements in place and bring you the purest form we can offer, incorporating the latest techniques available to us, so our products can be functional yet light and strong!
2005 Lee Musselwhite, june 2005: Inertia's long awaited products are now finally in production and are scheduled to arrive at distributors globally with-in 2 months. It has taken a long time to tweak all the minor details to bring you the perfect product in the most simplistic and function way. FRAMES - FORKS- BARENDS. These are our first offerings with other products not far behind on the production front.

Inertia Unit frame.
"Unit” = the smallest whole number, a single or whole entity, a standard amount. The “Unit” is a simple double diamond frame designed with flatland specific geometry. We wanted the design to be totally purpose driven, with no unnecessary gimmicks, just the purest form we could create. We have 2 different models;
Unit Elite= the high-end model using the Reynolds 853 material. It is built using the highest quality chromoly available, Reynolds 853 British tubing. Its unique properties; air hardened, heat-treated, double-butted tubing that gets stronger when welded, give you an extremely light yet strong design. Price £360.
Unit Premium = an alternative more affordable option made from high grade 4130 chromoly. Price £230
Both have identical geometry and design but their prices reflect the weight, strength and craftsmanship that have gone into the respective models.
Top tube = 18.8 inches (480mm), Head tube= 75 degrees, Rear centre chain stay length at perfect wheel position with integrated chain tensioners = 13 inches (330mm), Elite Weight = 4.5 lbs, Premium Weight = 5 lbs, Euro bb, 10mm dropouts, available with and without Brake Mounts, Matt Black or Inertia Grey. In addition all frames come with a FREE Inertia Seat Clamp.

Incognito chainring.
CNC 7075 heat-treated alloy with offset teeth. Unique minimalist design that provides all the strength needed for flatland abuse at an unbelievable weight.
